ALAMOGORDO, N.M. – March 18, 2026 – A joint narcotics investigation by the White Mountain Drug Task Force, Otero County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and Alamogordo Police Department officers has resulted in the arrests of three individuals and the seizure of more than 128 grams of methamphetamine along with a loaded handgun.
According to a press release issued by the Otero County Sheriff’s Office, task force agents developed information indicating that illegal narcotics and firearms were being stored inside a room at the Economy Inn. On March 12, 2026, agents obtained and executed a search warrant at the location.
During the search, officers located approximately 128.53 grams of methamphetamine and a Taurus 9mm handgun inside the room. As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Otero County Detention Center:
• Christopher Lucero
• Marcia Ramos
• Jesse Ballesteros
All three face felony charges under New Mexico law:
• Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) – in violation of NMSA §30-31-20 (Distribution/Trafficking)
• Conspiracy to Commit Trafficking of a Controlled Substance – in violation of NMSA §30-28-2
Sheriff David Black and Undersheriff Raul Robles emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
“The Otero County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to aggressively targeting the distribution of illegal narcotics and ensuring the safety of our communities,” the release stated.
Mugshots of the three suspects were released by the Sheriff’s Office and are available on the department’s website and social media channels.
This bust marks another success for the White Mountain Drug Task Force in its continued efforts to disrupt the flow of methamphetamine in Otero County.
