Alamogordo, N.M. — The Alamogordo Police Department released its weekly activity summary for March 16 through March 22, 2026. Officers handled a variety of calls for service, resulting in approximately 20 arrests, 12 citations, 7 juvenile referrals, and 6 code enforcement summonses. The log highlights recurring themes including failure-to-appear warrants, shoplifting, driving while intoxicated (DWI), disorderly conduct, domestic violence-related incidents, and drug offenses.

Warrant-Related Arrests
Failure-to-appear warrants from various courts (Magistrate, Municipal, Luna County, Tularosa) accounted for multiple arrests. Probation violation arrests were also noted. These made up a significant portion of the custodial actions.
Shoplifting and Property Crimes
Shoplifting incidents were among the most frequent, with several arrests and citations issued. Additional property offenses included larceny, criminal damage to property (involving a household member), and trespassing (with both adult citations and juvenile referrals).
DWI and Traffic Offenses
Four DWI arrests occurred, some combined with charges such as speeding, invalid registration plates, driving on a revoked license, and tampering with an ignition interlock device.
Disorderly Conduct
Disorderly conduct was reported in multiple disturbances, resulting in arrests, citations, and one related summons.
Domestic Violence and Assault Incidents
Several domestic-related cases involved battery or assault against household members, false imprisonment, and interference with communications. One aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was also charged.
Drug-Related Offenses
Drug activity included two arrests for trafficking a controlled substance and conspiracy (coordinated with the White Mountain Drug Task Force), one citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, and juvenile referrals for cannabis possession in restricted areas.
Juvenile Referrals
Seven juvenile referrals were issued for offenses including cannabis in restricted areas (some at local schools), larceny and unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon on school property, criminal damage, trespassing, shoplifting, and concealing identity.
Code Enforcement
Six summonses to Municipal Court were issued for property maintenance violations, including unlawful growth or accumulation on lots/tracts, outdoor storage, accumulation of garbage/refuse/debris, and obstruction on sidewalks.
Unattended Deaths
Officers responded to three unattended deaths: one involving apparent medical complications, one self-inflicted gunshot wound, and one unresponsive individual with no suspicious circumstances noted. Detectives and the Office of the Medical Investigator were involved where appropriate.
Other Offenses
Additional incidents included resisting/evading/obstructing an officer and malicious use of a telephone.
