What we do
We will cover and editorialize on political issues. We will seek feedback from our political leadership. This is especially important on issues impacting business and the health and welfare of our New Mexico community.
We showcase political leadership that is making a positive difference. We challenge political leadership to be transparent. They should truly represent a broad base of constituents. This should go beyond just left-wing or right-wing party ideology or egocentric agendas. We encourage political leaders to listen to all sides. They should collaborate and draft policies. This should be based on insight from a cross section of businesses and citizens.
We will editorialize but try to show both sides of an issue, when possible, and guarantee we offer fact-based debate. We will not allow our pages to host false news or propaganda. These are inconsistent with our mission of excellence and positive growth in the long run. We will use the tools of investigation and public records inquiry to get the facts behind a debate or topic.
When we do editorialize, it is an impassioned plea. We seek to expand the core of our political system debate for more transparency and collaboration. We encourage an education system that emphasizes the importance of education for 21st Century Jobs growth. There should be a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Additionally, we encourage re-engagement in vocational technical education to help job opportunities for the region.
We offer insight and a story that is more in depth. It holds more factual content than our competitors in corporate-owned print media.
Vision
We believe that Alamogordo is at a cusp of opportunity. Its proximity to White Sands National Park and The Lincoln National Forest enhances this potential. The area can experience growth and revitalization. It can be brought back to its glory days as a hub of business, culture, and the arts.
