The Lincoln National Forest asks the public to please avoid all closures within the Cedar Creek Area on the Smokey Bear Ranger District. Signs and caution flagging have been posted in all closed locations for public health and safety.

A  single snag fire located in George Canyon on the Smokey Bear Ranger District is contained. 

The fire has had no growth and showcases very low spread potential. Two engine resources are on scene and mop-up operations have started. 

Mop-up refers to the actions taken by firefighters to extinguish any remaining hot spots and making sure the fire can’t start up again. 

The Forest Service will provide updates as necessary. Thank you all for the continued support.
