The Alamogordo Police Department has arrested a local man in connection with an alleged sexual assault involving a 16-year-old child. The incident reportedly occurred on or about October 14, 2025, in the 2300 block of North White Sands Boulevard.

Following an investigation launched on October 15, authorities arrested 31-year-old Gary Manzanares of Alamogordo. He has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor (ages 13–18), classified as battery.

Manzanares was booked into the Otero County Detention Center, where he remains pending his initial court appearance.

The Alamogordo Police Department has not released further details at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
