Also note DWI Enforcement Operations

The Alamogordo Police Department will conduct sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout the month of May.

These operations are aimed at identifying and removing impaired drivers from our roadways. Officers will be actively enforcing traffic laws and watching for signs of impairment.

DWI is not a victimless crime. Impaired driving puts lives at risk.

Impairment is not limited to alcohol. The use of drugs, including marijuana, can affect your ability to drive and may result in a DUI arrest.

It is also illegal to overserve alcohol. Businesses that serve alcohol share responsibility in preventing impaired driving.

Plan ahead. If you choose to drink, use a designated driver or other safe options.

The Alamogordo Police Department remains committed to keeping our community safe.
