LAS CRUCES — The Alamogordo Tigers made a statement at Red Hawk Golf Course on Tuesday, with the boys team capturing the District 3-5A Championship title and the girls squad earning a runner-up finish — sending both programs to the 5A State Championships next week.

The boys team posted a commanding 307 to take the district crown, powered by a remarkable performance at the top of the leaderboard. Dyson Wright and Landon Wright shared medalist honors, each carding a 75 to tie for first place individually. Kolton Stagner added a third-place finish with a 77, while Andrez Montoya (80, T-5th) and Jacobi Saldevar (81, 7th) rounded out the scoring. Brody Wright contributed an 85 as the sixth man.
The girls team finished with a 349, good for second place in the district. Ellie Clore led the way with an 85 (4th), followed closely by Tatum Wright at 86 (T-5th) and Kylee Wright at 88 (T-7th). Ava Armijo shot a 90 (9th) and Annelisia Herrera contributed a 100 (16th).
Both teams will now set their sights on the 5A State Championships, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the NM State Golf Course in Las Cruces.
